Happy Friday!

Hello again Followers!

Sorry about the long time since my last blog, I have been a little distracted, like usual hehe.

Just a brief blog today because it's Friday and the weather is a lot cooler than it has been for the past 3 days.

I am so very glad that the heat has died down a bit, I am not particularly a fan of hot weather, in fact I struggle in Summer so it's nice to have a bit of a rest from the heat.

No makeup tutorial today, but instead a recipe and a bit of a mini makeup haul.

Now, I am not a big drinker, I actually feel quite unwell from drinking alcohol so lately I have been trying out some alternatives.
While this recipe may not be a mocktail of any pre-existing cocktails, it's still just as tasty and fun and relatively easy to make and affordable as well.
So here it is!
My Lime and Cucumber Refresher Mocktail!
What You'll need:

1 lime
1 cucumber
50ml Ginger Beer
100ml Lemonade
1tsp Rum Essence
handful of ice cubes

What you need to do:
Put the ice cubes in a glass of your choosing, pour the rum essence over the ice, add the ginger beer.
Cut the lime in half and squeeze a little lime juice, I'd say about a teaspoon.
Slice the other half of the lime and add the slices in, then use your vegetable peeler to slice off some thin shavings of cucumber and add them to the drink.
Give it a bit of a rough stir and top up with lemonade.
If you like, you could decorate it with a slice of lime on the rim of the glass but it looks awesome anyway :P

While I was doing a bit of Christmas Window shopping in Priceline, I spotted some new stuff by Essence.
Essence is a great brand, the products are really good quality and really affordable to buy so I had to grab the new products...
The new products are loose eye shadow pigments :D I was excited and I noticed that a lot of the colors had already sold out!

So I bought two of the pigments that were left and their new eye base.
The colors were "Miss Piggy's Lollipop" which is a vibrant hot pink with a slightly blue shimmer and Little Mermaid which is a blue ever so slightly teal shade with shimmer.

I also managed to find Maybelline's Eye Express cream Shadow stick in Lovely Lilac for $3 at a discount shop.

<<So here are some swatches from top to bottom:
Maybelline Express Eye Cream Eye Shadow stick in Lovely Lilac, Essence Pigment in Little Mermaid and Essence Pigment in Miss Piggy's Lollipop

I didn't use the eye base with these swatches but they are still quite bright and high pigmented so I can't wait to use these!

Next blog I will do a makeup tutorial with my new pigments, but until then best wishes to you all!

Eerie

Ooh! Trying new things so much fun!

Hello viewers and followers :D

How are we all doing today?
This has been a much better week for me, so I really hope everything has been going well for all my viewers and followers.
Seems like this is my first Saturday blog, I was getting a little bored and decided to do something a little different.

I wanted to try a really dark eyeshadow look using some dark purple and I also wanted to see how well colors would show with a black base as I am thinking about buying a black eye primer.

So I came up with this look, and I have to admit I love it.

I achieved this look by putting down a black base using the Black eyeshadow from my Chi Chi Cosmetics Bling Bling Palette,
on my outer corners I used Scaredy Cat Cosmetics Mineral Pigment in Mystic then in my inner corners I used Scaredy Cat's in Pink Elephants.
I lined my eyes on the top lids only, with Essence's black Gel liner.
I finished off by applying Australis's Lash Length Extensions to both bottom and top eyelashes.

I can't recommend Gel liner enough, I find it so much easier to apply evenly on both eyes than liquid or pencil eyeliner, I just apply it with a angled eyeliner brush and it lasts for hours.

For my lips, I used Lime Crime's Lipstick in Great Pink Planet, then with a lip brush, I applied Scaredy Cat's Mineral Pigment in Nevermore to the inner corners of my lips, then faded it into the middle of my lips.

I really must admit, I love how my lips turned out ^__^ .
I am really going to have to buy myself some more Lime Crime Lipsticks, I love the texture and how bright and vivid the colors are.

Now it's time for me to go and have a herbal tea and chill out and watch some movies :D
Hope the rest of your weekend is fantastic ;)

Makeup Monday 19/11/2012

Hey Everyone!
Sorry about the wait for a new blog, but I have been distracted and well, a little disappointed that I only have one follower :(

Today I am going to do some product reviews on some new products I have recently purchased :D

First product I would like to review is Australis Lash Length Extensions in Mascara in Black.
Let me just say that I was pleasantly surprised by this mascara.
When I first opened it and looked at the brush, I didn't think it would be the greatest as the bristles looked a little short.
How wrong I was!
This mascara is great! It coats the lashes evenly and keeps them separated as well as making them look longer.
The packaging is also very visually appealing and the price is also reasonable for about $9-$15 depending on where you buy.
I would give this product a 10/10

Next product I will review is Australis INTENSIFEYE in 'Out of the Blue'  Wet/Dry Eyeshadow.
This little trio color palette has a matte white color, a matte sea foam color and a shimmery teal color.
While I was a little disappointed with the Matte white and Matte sea foam colors not being so high pigmented as I usually look for, the shimmery teal was quite bright.
The white and sea foam would work well for highlighting but still not as noticeable as I usually like.
I do imagine though, that the Shimmery teal shade would "pop" over a dark base color.
The texture of the eyeshadow is quite lovely, it is comfortable to wear and doesn't irritate my eyes like some eyeshadows.
It also blends pretty well.
I would give this product a 7/10

My last product for reviewing is Revlon Color Burst Lip Gloss in 'Decadent'
I got this on sale for $5, and from what I have heard it is a discontinued shade which I find disappointing as I love this color.
It's a deep warm purple with a violet pearly shine to it.
I really must admit I love this lipgloss product, it's smooth and easy to wear and adds a nice amount of color to your lips and the shine it gives your lips is AMAZING.
Not only does it feel nice to wear and colors your lips well but it's long lasting.
3 hours of wear and still no clumping and still have not needed to reapply.
I'd give this lipgloss a 10/10 because I love it.

My makeup for the day, while no theme to it, I wanted something bright and somewhat daring.
I applied my usual foundation of Essence Soft&Natural long lasting matte foundation in Sand Beige then I used Australis INTENSIFEYE in 'Out of the Blue".
I used the matte white as a base and used the shimmery teal shade on the outer creases and applied it to 3/4 of  my bottom eyelid.
In my inner corners, I used a hot fuschia pink from my 120 color palette and applied it to the remaining 1/4 of my bottom eyelid and blended it into the shimmer teal, I also blended the two colors on my top eyelid.

I used my Essence gel eyeliner in Black to give a thick lining to my top eyelids and finished off with applying Australis' Lash Length Extensions black Mascara.

I went over my eyebrows with BYS Neon Pink liquid eyeliner. and just blended the color in with my angled eyebrow brush.

For the last touch, I applied Revlon Color Burst lipgloss in 'Decadent'.

Thanks for those who do read my blogs, I really do appreciate it. Please share, comment and follow, and if you can, get friends to follow too!

Theme Thursday!

Hello Followers!
Welcome to my very first THEME THURSDAY!
Occasionally I will be blogging a Theme Thursday, where I blog about a theme of makeup that I have done for Thursday XD

For this Theme Thursday's theme I was going for a slightly Mermaid style makeup.
I went for greens, pearly shimmers and aqua colors.

To get into the mood I was listening to Phaeleh's Fallen Light album.
This music is very relaxing, and has a real "water flowing" ambiance to it, which I thought was perfect for the makeup theme I was going for.

Today I wanted to do my base a little more light and more dewy than I usually would
So I started with Missha's BB Boomer, then applied Skin79's Dream Girls BB Cream and light brushed my face over with Essence's Fix&Matte Translucent Powder.

To start my eyes off, I applied Essence's Eyeshadow Base.
Then I applied Scaredy Cat Cosmetics Mineral Pigment in Tide Me Over right to my brow line and rubbed in well as well applying it to my lower eyelid in the inner corner.

I mixed some of my eyeshadow from my old cheapy 120 color palette with my Joelle Cosmetics Eyeshadow Sealer to make an aqua liquid eyeliner and applied it as an eyeliner on my bottom eyelid sweeping out to the outer crease.

Doing the same with Scaredy Cat Cosmetic's in Amanita, I made another line just above the aqua line on my top eyelids.

I used DB Brand's Jade Green Liquid Eyeliner to my eyebrows. I glued on some extra long blue and purple false lashes and to finish I applied some Electric Blue mascara.

For my lips, I mixed some ChiChi Cosmetics lip gloss with Scaredy Cat Cosmetics Tide Me Over Mineral Pigment.

The DB Brand's Jade Green liquid Eyeliner was a little harder to remove than to apply, as it has plenty of glitter in it, so if you are not fond of glitter in your makeup products or are sensitive to it, it's something to keep in mind.

Seems I am getting views! Thanks to all the viewers! Hopefully though, I can get some more followers :D

Next blog, I plan to do about something other than makeup, perhaps food ^___^

Well I best be off, almost time to go grocery shopping, which exciting because it's been a pretty long week as we have been strapped for cash and the food we've had in the house has been kind of scarce and not much fun can't wait to get myself a lot of salad XD

Love Ya!

Makeup For Wednesday!

Hey Girls and Guys!

While today was my first day to start blogging, I would like to share my makeup for today :)

No real theme today but I decided on some blues, purples and pinks and Gold as the feature color.

I started with a matte foundation, I use Soft and Natural Long Lasting Matte Foundation by Essence, and then Eye Primer also by Essence and as a base I used my ChiChi Cosmetics in "Bling Bling"  using the shimmer white shade.

For the inner corners of my eyes I used my Scaredy Cat Cosmetic mineral pigment in "Mystic" and "Dysphoria" for the outer corners of my eyes and blended into Mystic.
I did the same for my bottom eyelids.
I then lined my top eyelids with LUSH eyeliner in "Fantasy" and lined just under my waterline with ChiChi Glitter Eyeliner in "Scene Queen".
Bit of Mascara, also by Essence.

I went over my eyebrows with my Neon Pink Eyeliner by BYS and finished the look with ChiChi's "Valley Doll" lipstick.

As you can tell, I used a lot of Essence brand make up. This is because it's really affordable and available at my local Priceline and it's also quite good quality.
When it comes makeup I love the more expensive brands but unfortunately it's not always in my price range.
I think it can take some skill to make the cheaper quality work for you, and of course I am willing to use them so long as they don't cause an allergic reaction but I'd love to get my hands on some Lime Crime, Sugarpill and Rockaresque make up.
Scaredy Cat Cosmetics, is a boutique style cosmetics store on etsy.
Please check out Scaredy Cat Cosmetics:

While I have only bought a pack of their trial vials of the mineral pigments, I have already gotten a few uses out of each vial and still enough left for a few more uses :)
They are very light and easy to use and as yet have not caused me a reaction.

I love ChiChi Cosmetics, they are Aussie made, and don't test on animals and are really good quality.
I can buy ChiChi Cosmetics from Target and Myer.
www.chichicosmetics.com/

When I buy cosmetics I prefer to go for the ones I can try out first and are easily accessable. Occasionally I buy some online I really like, and like to buy my BB Cream online.

Can you believe this is the first time I have put any color on my eyebrows? I usually don't know what to do with them other than pluck them heavily.
I usually hate my eyebrows, the hairs are long and hard to do much with.

If you have any suggestions for what I can do with my unruly eyebrows I would love for you to drop me a comment and let me know!

But for now, time for this Doll to go get herself a cup of herbal tea, chill out on the sofa and watch Bride of Frankenstein!
